Tourism Advisory Committee

Purpose and Typical Duties

The purposes of the Tourism Advisory Committee are: to advise the Madison County Board of Supervisors and County staff on tourism issues, encourage travelers to visit Madison County so as to increase occupancy at lodging properties and generate tourism revenues in Madison County, and to advise the Board of Supervisors on the appropriate and best use of restricted funds that have been generated by transient occupancy taxes.

There are no limits on the number of terms a member may serve.

Meeting Time and Place

Meetings are held in the Board Auditorium at 414 N. Main Street quarterly.

Member Qualification

At least two members of the Tourism Advisory Committee shall be representatives of lodging properties located in Madison County. A member of the Board of Supervisors may be appointed to the Tourism Advisory Committee. No County employee may serve as a member of the Tourism Advisory Committee.
