Purpose and Typical Duties
The Family Assessment and Planning Team, or FAPT, is a group of community partners (DSS, Court Services, Schools, Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board, and private providers) who come together each month and meet with the Service Coordinator and family to assess the strengths and needs of youth and families. The FAPT team then works together with the family and service providers to develop a plan to meet the identified needs of the at-risk youth and their families.

Term Limitations
The Parent-Rep and Private Provider are on a 2-year rotation; the other positions, not including the Board Rep, are mandated.
Appointments for mandated positions run with the fiscal year and run out June 30 of the year following their appointment.

Meeting Time and Place
Meetings are held the first Wednesday of every month in the DSS boardroom at 9:00 am.

Appointment Process
The Board of Supervisors do not recommend people to this team; the mandated positions will be provided for approval by the Board of Supervisors.
