On October 25, 2023, Madison County declared a local emergency due to the Quaker Run

Wildfire. The wildfire is an active fire and as of today, has consumed over 1900 acres. Various fire

agencies are working to control and eliminate the fire. During this time, the County is advising

all citizens to please refrain from any outdoor burning. We desperately need all our fire

fighting resources to be able to focus on the active Quaker Run Wildfire and not to be pulled away

to handle an outdoor burn. For up-to-date information on the wildfire, you may visit the following

Facebook page: Madison County Department of Emergency Management. We appreciate your

attention to this advisement.
