Early Voting
The Registrar's Office is open for in-person early voting beginning 45 days prior to Election Day. Early voting begins September 22, 2023.
Early voting can be done in person at the Registrar's Office at 414 N Main Street, Madison, VA 22727 Monday-Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Early voting will also be available at the Registrar's Office on the two Saturdays before Election Day from 9 am to 5 pm.
Apply For An Absentee Ballot (Vote By Mail)
An absentee ballot application must be completed so that we can mail you a ballot.
Apply for a ballot online using your VA driver’s license on the Virginia Department of Elections website, or
Email the Registrar to request an application.
Print out an application (attached below), complete and submit it through the mail, in person, or by email.
Request an application by phone or voicemail at 540-948-6533. State your full name, address, and how many applications you are requesting.
Applications for a mailed absentee ballot must be received in our office no later than 5:00 pm eleven days prior to Election Day.
Completed Absentee Ballots
Completed ballots must be postmarked no later than the date of the election and received in the Registrar's Office by 12:00 pm on the Friday after the election in order to be counted.
Ballots can be mailed, dropped in person at our office at 414 N Main Street, or placed in our Official Ballot Drop Box located next to the main doors at the front of the building.
