Each day Madison County EMS clinicians staff two advanced life support ambulances. Nearly all of our employees are certified at the paramedic or critical care paramedic level. In addition, many of our employees are firefighters, and/or trained in vehicle extrication, technical rescue, and hazardous materials emergencies. Under the medical direction of Dr. Bill Brady, MD, of the University of Virginia Health System's Department of Emergency Medicine, MEMS providers are trained to perform many advanced-level skills and provide dozens of life-saving medications on standing order. We are able to provide a level of care not available in much larger communities.
